Flightmap offers you connectivity to other applications using different file formats which cover a great range of scenarios.
Flightmap can open itineraries in three different file formats. The native file format is .airx, which supports all features of current Flightmap versions. In addition, .air files that early versions of Flightmap up to 1.9.4 created can also be opened—you will not lose any data! Both .air and .airx files can be assigned to Flightmap during installation.
Comma Separated Values
Flightmap also supports a simple file format called “Comma Separated Values” (.csv) to exchange data with third party applications such as Microsoft Excel. The file format is a plain text file that stores each table row in one line of text, columns are separated by a comma or colon. Flightmap uses the delimiter character from your Windows settings, so depending on your locale, columns may be separated by a comma, colon or other characters. This behavior is in line with Microsoft Excel. The first row always contains the column names, such as “From”, “To”, etc.
When opening a .csv file, different column names are recognized (left) and mapped to the appropriate column in Flightmap (right). The name printed in bold is the default name when you export itineraries to Comma Separated Values. Please note that .csv files created by Flightmap always use English column names to keep files interchangeable regardless of locale.
|CSV header||Flightmap column|
|DATE & TIME
|DEPT. GATE||Dept. gate|
|ARR. GATE||Arr. gate|
|AIRCRAFT NAME||Aircraft name|
ETIX BOOKING CODE
|AWARD MILES||Award miles|
